Active Gaming Wristbands

The PowaBand Encourages Kids to Earn Points from Real-Life Exercise

The Wii and Kinect made great strides in getting video game enthusiasts off of their seats, but check out this smart take on active gaming! Called the PowaBand, this is a wearable gadget for children that motivates them to exercise more than just their thumbs.

Designed by Rob Bye, this fitness band is made in cheerful hues, featuring a digital time interface and a system of colorful bands. The wearer can watch as his points increase with each half hour of fitness. With PowaPlay points, the child can buy what he needs within his video games; with integrated PowaPay, he can make in-person purchases in addition to digital ones.

If this concept of more active gaming weren't already clever enough, it's a bonus that it's compatible with every game and every device. Kids' physical and virtual worlds are colliding for a brilliant lifestyle balance and fun.
